United Catholic Church Office: Most Rev. Rose Tressel
Rose Tressel was consecrated to the episcopacy in 2006. She holds a STM from The General Theological Seminary in New York City, where she pursued her study interests of ecumenism and conciliar theology under the oversight of the late Rev. Canon Dr. J. Robert Wright, the then Historiographer of The Episcopal Church and an ecumenical expert in Anglican-Old Catholic relations. She also holds a MDiv from the Trinity Theological Seminary-University of Liverpool (UK), and a MBA from the University of New Haven in Connecticut, and studied Old Catholic thought and practice at the Utrecht University (NL). Bishop Tressel is a retired healthcare chaplain. She completed her ACPE internship at Masonicare, and her one-year chaplaincy residency at Hartford Hospital, both in Connecticut, and was employed thereafter for many years as a clinical chaplain and site mentor for student chaplains at The Connecticut Hospice, America’s first hospice, and a national leader in the palliative care field. Bishop Tressel is also the retired pastor of Bethany Church, an experimental design cell church network centered in Connecticut.
